I just did a similar test using the efficient blows perk (reduce stam cost of all BLUNT attacks by 25%). Before the perk I could do 8 strong punches and my stamina ran out. With the perk I could do 11 strong punches so it seems fists are blunt "weapons". 5. Furieji.
Yeah, this was true even back before 2.0. Gave me a hell of a time in my first playthrough until I figured it out. Hit 'em even once after they're KO'd, it kills them. It's weird though.
